Ten Yuan Central Bank of China short snorter Series 1941, signed on the obverse by Earl A. Butts.  Major Butts
commanded a B-24 Liberator in the 5th Army Air Force, 63rd Squadron, known as the "Sea Hawks”.  The “Sea Hawks”
were low altitude, radar-equipped, B-24 Liberator bombers dedicated to attacking shipping.  Major Butts rose to
command the squadron in the final days of World War II from 22 May 1945 to September 1945.
