Virgil M. Mayabb was career Navy who went through flight school as an enlisted man and received NAP # 53-39 on Feb.
14, 1939.  Virgil Mayabb earned his commission as a  Lt. (jg) Naval Aviator on April 21, 1942.  He spent most of his career
flying PBYs and served in the Atlantic and Pacific theaters.  His permanent service record is archived in the Naval
Aviation Museum at Pensacola (AP section).  His son, Virgil M. (Mike) Mayabb, Jr., submitted this note and writes, "It's in
bad shape and I don't know if anyone of importance is on it....I just think they must have been important to him."
